Learn About Sun Belt Wellness’ Ketamine Infusion Therapy
We’ve come a long way as a society in de-stigmatizing mental illness–depression, PTSD, anxiety, etc. Still, those with mental health issues often struggle to find sufficient treatment. Enter Ketamine Infusion Therapy. Long since approved by the FDA for its use as anesthesia, Ketamine has been found more recently to help with pain management and mood disorders.
“Over the last 20 years, ketamine has been investigated more thoroughly in the realms of mental health and chronic pain,” says Nicholas M. Kalynych, Managing Partner and CEO of Sun Belt Wellness Institute, a North Florida based company using Ketamine Infusion Therapy to treat such issues. As members of the American Society of Ketamine Physicians, Sunbelt Wellness Institute is well versed in the latest research and modifies protocols to maintain peak efficacy. “Leading institutions including Yale, Stanford, Harvard, and Massachusetts General Hospital have conducted research proving ketamine’s efficacy. Multiple publications have put this therapies success rate at 70% or higher. This, coupled with its rapid effect (working for most within 1 hour) and limited side effect profile, gives patients the relief they deserve. ”

What’s unique about ketamine as a treatment for mental health issues? Who is the treatment geared toward?
For people who have tried and failed “standard of care” medications, ketamine offers a new alternative with amazing results. We are a veteran owned and operated company who spent the time translating this to an affordable outpatient solution. Increasing access for military, first responders, and everyday citizens in Jacksonville was our goal and I believe we have met that mark. Our dynamic team of Anesthesiologists, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, and Registered Nurses ensure safety while the calm, spa-like setting which allows for maximal healing. For persons suffering with Treatment Resistant Depression, PTSD, Bipolar Depression, Postpartum Depression, and Chronic Pain, I am proud to stand by the efficacy of this evidence-based therapy.
Is there a story you can share of a time or situation where your organization helped someone that illustrates the value of Ketamine Infusion Therapy?
As a proud Veteran of the United States Navy I surround myself with top tier individuals that know what it means to serve. Our mission, True North, is an internal moral and ethical compass guiding us in life and public outreach. A retired service member who had battled PTSD for the majority of his life came to our group with little hope. This gentleman had tried multiple medications with limited success and mounting side-effects. Through our Ketamine Infusion protocol for PTSD, we were able to reduce his symptoms and return him to a baseline where further care would have an increased chance of success. When I spoke with him towards the end of his treatment series he said, “thanks for having my back, and bringing me back.” From that day I was hooked. I want to deliver that success to everyone in need.
What are some ways folks can support folks suffering from mental health issues?
Support your friends and family by keeping an open dialogue. Mental health care requires active listening and thoughtful understanding. Be prepared to let others explain their feelings and instead of offering suggestions, let them know you are available for further discussion. For Sunbelt Wellness Institute just come on by and say hello. We would love to meet with all of our community members and be a resource for education in this new and exciting field. Ketamine Infusion Therapy is a life-saving tool and a practical alternative when standard of care medications are not enough. The integration of this treatment into our community requires advocates like you, who will become the champions of our cause. The future of hope and healing needs you!
