KETAMINE INFUSION THERAPY

WHO CAN BENEFIT?

Ketamine Infusion Therapy has been found effective in mood disorders including: Treatment Resistant Depression, Bipolar Depression, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This therapy is also effective in chronic pain conditions including: Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, Chronic Headache, Fibromyalgia, and other neuropathic pain conditions.

HOW DOES IT WORK ?

  • Most medications prescribed for treatment-resistant mood disorders and chronic pain work by changing the amount of specific neurotransmitters, chemical messengers, in the brain. The side effects of these medications can be debilitating.
  • Ketamine works in a different way. IVKT triggers a cascade of events in the brain, temporarily blocking the activation of certain chemical receptors in the brain and signaling other pathways. Ketamine works on NMDA receptors, producing a protein that causes rapid growth of new neural connections, or “rewiring” of the brain. This rewiring effect leads to the antidepressant and anti-inflammatory benefits of IVKT.
  • Intravenous infusion is the Gold Standard for Ketamine therapy and is widely supported in published clinical studies.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

  • A routine IVKT session, including professional assessment and infusion, will take approximately 90 minutes. You will be monitored throughout your treatment by one of our Certified Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) and Registered Nurse (RN) professionals.
  • Although patient responses vary, most who have received IVKT experience immediate and effective relief from their symptoms during and after the treatment. Ketamine infusion therapy has the potential to pave the way for lasting relief.
  • Ketamine is not a one-time, permanent treatment. For most patients the symptomatic relief from IVKT will begin to diminish over time. In general, a series of infusions provides longer lasting relief than does a single treatment.
  • Many patients who have undergone IVKT report that they are able to break out of persistent negative thoughts and behaviors and are feel well-equipped to handle life’s challenges.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO I NEED?

    • Ketamine infusions are typically administered via six (6) one-hour infusions over a fourteen-day (14) period. After that, maintenance infusions are done once monthly, according to your individual care plan.

IS KETAMINE THERAPY COVERED BY INSURANCE?

    • IVKT is a fee-for-service therapy. We require payment at the time of service. We will be happy to provide you with the necessary documents to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. We accept cash, major credit cards, and offer financing through the Advanced Care card.

WHO CAN BENEFIT?

  • IASIS EEG Neurofeedback therapy is safe for people of all ages. Neurofeedback is scientifically proven to treat ADHD, addiction, anxiety, autism, brain fog, concussion, depression, fatigue, insomnia, memory loss, migraines, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), stroke, and others.
  • CEOs, scholars, athletes, artists, musicians and the military use Neurofeedback to enhance Peak Performance.
  • In 2012, the American Pediatric Association rated Neurofeedback as a Level 1 intervention for treatment of ADHD, non-pharmacological and noninvasive, on the same level as behavior and talk therapy.

HOW DOES IT WORK ?

    • Using electroencephalogram (EEG) technology, IASIS neurofeedback measures the electrical activity of the brain, the brainwaves, to find the areas of dysregulation. Through the use of “microcurrent”, carefully calibrated and controlled electrical signals that are 7 million times softer than one AA battery, neurofeedback gently nudges the brain towards balance, towards homeostasis.
    • Neurofeedback, unlike medications, holds the potential to produce enduring changes to the more optimal health and performance.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

      • You will sit in a comfortable chair. Your skin will be prepped with alcohol and a gentle scrubbing gel. Flat sensors will be placed on your neck, behind your ears, and on your scalp using a mild conductive paste. These sensors are connected to sensitive electronics and computer software that detect, amplify, and record specific brain activity. Resulting information is fed back to the brain instantaneously, gently nudging your brainwaves into their optimal frequency ranges.
      • As with IVKT, most clients report feeling relaxed and calm during and after each treatment. On average, the benefits of Neurofeedback are noticeably sustaining by the 5th session, and increase with each subsequent treatment.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO I NEED?

        • A series of 12-30 treatments, 1-2 times weekly, is recommended in order to bring about lasting changes. Clients often begin to notice improvement with the first session, before getting out of the chair. The positive effects last ever longer as session time accumulates, and the brain is expected to continue improving after treatment is no longer needed.

WHO CAN BENEFIT?

  • Acupuncture is widely used to relieve pain and to alleviate symptoms associated with certain health conditions. Studies have found promising results in treating nausea and vomiting associated with pregnancy, chemotherapy, and with post-surgical pain. Acupuncture may also be useful for relief of headaches, for smoking cessation, musculoskeletal pain, myofascial pain, and asthma.

HOW DOES IT WORK ?

  • Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine needles at strategic points on your body, along “meridians” or pathways, to stimulate nerves, muscles, and connective tissue, and to promote the body’s ability to self-heal.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

  • Your acupuncturist will ask about your health history and will perform an assessment or examination based upon your individual health needs. You will then lie comfortably on a treatment table while very fine needles are inserted gently along the acupoints on your body. Most people feel little or no discomfort as the needles are inserted. Your acupuncturist may gently move or manipulate the needles once they are placed. Heat may be applied using a mild heat lamp to maximize the benefits. The needles usually remain in place for 5-20 minutes while you lie still and relax. There is usually no discomfort when the needles are removed.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO I NEED?

  • You and your acupuncturist will decide upon a treatment plan based upon your individual health needs.
